Engagement Locations

Pick a place, an outfit, and let's meet!

Depending the time of year, Locations can be tricky. Below I've listed a series of locations and concepts in the Upstate/Central New York Area to help and assist in planning the engagement session. All are placed I have personally experienced and photographed at, however I am always welcome to suggestions as new places would be wonderful to discover.

Prep for your session

Don't overthink it. Engagement sessions are fun. It's also great practice for the big day. Here are a few points to remember for your session.

  • Be yourselves
  • Dress for the location/weather. Don't overthink the outfit. If you want to dress up, do so.. or just wear a casual outfit
  • Spring/Summer 6 or 7pm is usually great light, for golden hour
  • Weekends get booked out quickly for me, let's plan accordingly

Natural Waterfalls

New York has many waterfall locations, but this one is by far one of my favorites. Since it's super easy to get to. Best to shoot here after a few days of pure sun. Rainy days prior might make the gorge very strong.

"The Ruins"

Centrally located in the Finger Lakes, this is one of my favorite locations to shoot in. The sunsets here are "to die for" in the Summer. It's very easy to access. This is your typical lakefront, classic look.

This hidden gem is about 15 minutes away from Downtown Binghamton. Perfect all year around. A choice for many couples. Easy access, private too!

Aquaterra Tunnel

I titled this place myself. Love the "tunnel" feel for this spot! Looks amazing during Fall too! - Binghamton

Centrally located in Binghamton, this lovely place is amazing during the Spring/Summer, and sometimes in the Winter.

The Garden

If you are looking for a botanical garden look, florals and trees. This would be your best bet. Late Spring & Summers are perfect here. Winter is also nice. This is in Binghamton, New York.

Lake Erie

A trial full of trees and beauty! in Angola (Lake Erie) NY (Hour from Syracuse)

Ithaca is Gorges

There are SO many waterfalls in Ithaca. This one being the GO TO spot.

My FAV Fall spot . .

Located in Syracuse, there is this one tree that looks great late September - Early October. This couple decided to include their kids in the engagement session! This tree makes this scene perfect!

Woof Park

It's really named Wolf Park, but it's open to Dogs. If you are in Rochester or near it, and want to bring your dog along.. This would be the place to be!

Lake, water, breweries, and city/urban look? Look no further than Skaneateles.

Here it is again! During Winter

Cornell Garden

Located in the middle of CU in Ithaca, this beautiful garden has a few amazing spots for photos! Late spring - End of Summer for the best floral look!

Another hidden gem, this park has a small pond, A bridge, Amazing sunsets and Willow Trees! Located in Syracuse.

Franklin Square - Syracuse

Parks & Landscapes

We are not limited to the parks I mentioned. I shoot in a lot of parks. Feel free to let me know of any specific parks or landmarks you would like to go to. Shaded areas are the best, and anytime after 5pm would be the ideal time (golden hour) or 2pm during Daylight Saving Time.

Downtown & City Urban

A stroll Downtown, a stop for coffee or a brew. We can pick and choose a city and capture some cute street/urban candids like this.

Your own theme/concept

Every engagement session is unique. You do NOT have to use any of the locations here. If you have your own location or idea in mind, I would be more than happy to document it! Let's plan your custom engagement session

Whenever I'm in New Jersey, I LOVE to shoot in Hoboken. It is a much smaller and less populated Manhattan (to me). It has the piers and the little streets we can shoot City/Urban style.
